Fact-check a claim with AI (safely)

The problem: A post, headline, or forwarded message makes a big claim. You want to know if it holds up before you share it or act on it.

Do this

  1. Copy the exact claim, word for word.
  2. Paste the prompt. The AI will split it into parts and tell you what to check.
  3. Check at least one part yourself at the kind of source it names.

Copy-paste

Help me fact-check this claim. Don't just tell me true or false. Claim: "[PASTE CLAIM]" Where I saw it: [SOURCE] 1) Break it into separate factual parts 2) For each part: what kind of source could confirm it (official agency, original study, company statement, court record) 3) Red flags in the wording (missing dates, vague "experts say", emotional language) 4) What you're unsure about, and why Don't invent links or sources. If you might be out of date, say so.

Done when: You checked one part at a real source and know whether to share it.

Tip: AI can be out of date or wrong. Use it to know what to check, then check it yourself.
