Draft a polite follow-up after silence

The problem: You sent a message a week ago. Nothing. You want a reply, but you don’t want to sound annoyed or desperate.

Do this

  1. Fill in the brackets: who, what you asked, and when.
  2. Paste the prompt and pick the version that sounds most like you.
  3. Edit one line so it’s yours, then send.

Copy-paste

Write a short follow-up message. To: [WHO + relationship] What I originally asked: [ONE LINE] When I sent it: [DATE or "about a week ago"] Medium: [email / text / LinkedIn] Why it matters / any deadline: [OPTIONAL] Give me 3 versions: very short (under 25 words), friendly, and friendly with an easy out ("if now's not a good time, no worries"). No guilt, no "just checking in", no "per my last email".

Done when: You’ve sent one follow-up, or scheduled it for tomorrow morning.

Tip: Make it easy to say yes. Ask one clear question they can answer in one line.
